Works of Joyce

A central figure of (re-)interpreting Joyce’s oeuvre in Hungary is literary historian András Kappanyos, who, throughout the years, presented 8 volumes by Joyce on various Bloomsdays. The books – whose publications were occasionally also supported by the Local Government of Szombathely – are partly new translations and, partly, new publications: Poems (1999), Dubliners (2000), Exiles (2001), Smaller Works (2002), A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man (2003), Unpublished Writings (2006), Stephen Hero (2008), Ulysses (2012).

James Joyce Society

Hungarian James Joyce Society was founded in 2002 by literary scholar Ferenc Takács who still runs it as its president. The Society was present at various Bloomsdays either as an organizer or as a participant.
